This is the Google Pixel 4 – plus other info

So Google just trolled itself and confirmed that the leaked image was in fact its upcoming Pixel 4.

The phone is not being released for another 4 months, so this is kind of crazy for a company to confirm that the leaked image was in fact its phone. Why would anyone now buy the older models, when you can clearly see there are multiple rear cameras now and some rumoured up to 5 cameras on the front.

What Google needs to confirm is that this new phone will have at least 6GB of ram, preferably 8gb to avoid apps being dumped out of memory.

So are you excited for the new Pixel 4?

Huawei’s new mobile OS & all the countries it’s been trademarked in

Following Huawei’s US ban, Huawei has now trademarked its mobile OS all around the world.

China’s Huawei has applied to trademark its “Hongmeng” operating system (OS) in at least nine countries and Europe, data from a U.N. body shows, in a sign it may be deploying a back-up plan in key markets as U.S. sanctions threaten its business model.

Since then, Huawei – the world’s biggest maker of telecoms network gear – has filed for a Hongmeng trademark in countries such as Cambodia, Canada, South Korea and New Zealand, data from the U.N. World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) shows.

If other Chinese smartphone companies seek to adopt this as well, Android as we know it will be fragmented even more.

Ultimately, Trump has now caused a big division in android, one that didn’t need dividing.

Beware of this big change between Google Drive and Photos that goes live in July!

Currently , you could choose in the Google Drive settings to make your photos folder visible. This meant you could access the files uploaded to Google Photos and add new ones via Google Drive.

Next month this will stop. Photos and videos added in Google Drive won’t appear in Google Photos. And vice verse.

Google will have a new option in Photos called “Upload from Drive.” This will let you manually choose images in Drive to import into Photos.

Three UK to launch 5G in August 2019 – Full Details

Three UK has announced that its 5G network will launch in August with support for both mobile phones and home broadband. By the end of the 2019. The network will be available in 25 towns across the UK — including London, Cardiff, Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester, and Liverpool. Three UK’s 5G home broadband service will initially be available only in London.

Three UK said its network will be at least 2x faster than the competition, thanks to the 140 MHz of spectrum it has, which is over double that of its nearest competitor. Three UK’s 5G network is using a cloud-based core network from Nokia.

The company also boasts that it is the only operator that can offer a “true” 5G experience, as set out by the global standards body on 5G technology, the ITU.

This requires 80-100 MHz of contiguous spectrum in prime 5G mid-bands (eg 3.5 GHz).

As well as spectrum, Three has been investing in high-capacity smart antennas, in order meet the anticipated future demand for data.

Over the next three years, Three’s 5G rollout will continue to ramp up to cover 80% of its network traffic.

The network investment programme also includes upgrades within Three’s 4G network, expected to deliver up to 400% improvements in speed and capacity.

This will be achieved through deploying more 4G spectrum, converting 3G spectrum to 4G and using advanced antenna technology, according to Three.

Customers wishing to use 5G at launch will need to be in a 5G area and have access to either a 5G smartphone or home broadband device.

Three will be announcing more details around handset range and pricing in July.

Xbox Project Scarlett just got announced by Microsoft at E3 2019. So what is Project Scarlett and what makes it so interesting?

For starters it is using a custom-designed processor from AMD making use of Zen 2 and Navi architecture, Xbox Project Scarlett will be 4 x more powerful than the Xbox One X. It’ll be possible of running games at 120Hz frame rates, at potential 8K resolutions, while also showcasing fancy real-time ray-tracing tech. Very nice.

An SSD will come as standard, which will give it the option of using its storage system as virtual RAM, as well as lifting load time performance by a factor of 40 x. That’ll let developers stream in far more detailed worlds around a player. In terms of standard RAM, the console will pack in a meaty GDDR6. Wow.

Halo Infinite will be a launch title, however, the Xbox Project Scarlett will be capable of three gamre generations of backwards compatibility. So, as well as Scarlett-era games, it’ll also play games from the Xbox One, the Xbox 360, and the very first generation of the Xbox. Neat.
