Twitter user @evleaks tweeted the image above showing the new Blinkfeed from the upcoming HTC One M8.
It shows the new wow icons on the status bar and new on screen buttons.
Samsung Galaxy S5 is due to be announced by Samsung in the next few weeks.
It is likely to feature Super AMOLED 5.24 inch screen, QHD 2K resolution of 1440 x 2560, creating a PPI rating of about 560. That’s over 200 PPI more than the retina screen of the iPhone 5S.
Dependant on country if will either have an Exynos 6 processor, or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805, 3GB of RAM, 32- and 64GB internal storage options (most probably expandable via microSD), a 16MP (probably ISOCELL kind) and a 3.2MP camera combo, as well as a 3,200mAh battery powering everything. In reality, don’t expect to see the 64gb version, just the 32gb which will likely only have between 23-25gb free to the user.
The big question is whether this phone will feature the new touchwiz interface, what software enhancements are included and the overall design versus the Samsung S4.
Is this phone on your radar?
Leaked on twitter is this the phone to worry Samsung and others?
And does the back layout reveal two cameras?
What’s your thoughts?
Apple plans to release iOS 8 this year and is looking to capture has the mobile healthcare and fitness world.
iOS 8 will look to integrate tightly with health and fitness tracking integration as its headline feature and likely working with its new iWatch.
But will Samsung or another company get there first.
Just thought I would share a use for the above 3 pieces of hardware.
My Note 3 is streaming music from Google Play Music. The Note 3 is connected via USB , using its USB Audio digital out connection to the Fiio E18. The Fiio E18 translates the digital signal from the Note 3 and then amplifies the sound into my Sennheiser headphones.
The sound on the Fiio E18 is turned up just a little too loud and then using the Galaxy Gear I am now controlling the media and system volume up and down dependant on how loud or quite each track is. The Gear displays the song info as well.
A lovely setup. And incredible sound quality too.
The Samsung Galaxy Gear is a great combination with the Note 3.
The attention to detail by Samsung is remarkable high in places. For example, the charging cradle piece, when it charges , it shows the battery level. It then turns the Gear screen off again. But it you lift Gear with charging cradle fitted, the battery icon and percentage appears again. Also the cradle has NFC for the first time setup.
But the charging cradle which clips over front and rear of the Galaxy Gear is also my pet hate. It would have been a lot nicer just to have a micro USB port built into the rear of the Gear. That way you wouldn’t need the special piece of charging it.
And what happens if you were to lose it ?
I’ve also found battery life improves all the time. One week is easily possible if motion option is turned off, otherwise 2-3 days is realistic.
After the maker of the hugely popular Candy Crush series of games on the App Store somehow managed to trademark the word “candy” in Europe, other developers have started to fight back by blitzing Apple with an array of Candy themed game submissions. More than 100 hastily prepared titles have already been put forward as part of an organized “Candy Jam” protest against the trademarking of common words, including such gobstoppers such as CAN D, ThisGameIsNotAboutCandy, CanDieCanDieCanDie and the inimitable Candy_Game (“Press to hear Candy.”)
In the meantime, the developer at the centre of the controversy, King.com, continues to pursue legal action against those who use any of words in its arsenal of trademarks, even those that have nothing to do with sugar. This apparently includes one poor dev who had the cheek to use the word “saga” in a Norse mythology-themed game called The Banner Saga — a title that treads too closely to Candy Crush Saga, according to legal documents filed by King. What’s more, now that King has also filed for new trademarks in the US, this whole saga could be about to get totally farcical.
Announced at CES 2014, and now available to pre order from Sony UK for March delivery is a growing trend of new high end portable digital audio players.
The build quality is outstanding. But when Apple is facing huge a drop in ipod sales, and the ipod Classic is now really ancient, surely this type of product is far too niche.
Sammobile published the above screen shot from the new Samsung S Voice app.
It features a flatter lighter look. And for a minute very Apple Siri alike.
What do you think?
Amazon has not be secret about trying to put physical stores out of business but now it looks like the company is planning to launch a charm offensive against its rivals. The Wall Street Journal announced that Amazon “plans to offer brick-and-mortar retailers a checkout system that uses Kindle tablets as soon as this summer” that might involve giving the stores “Kindle tablets and credit-card readers” to use free of charge.
While this sounds rather sweet of Amazon, the Wall Street Journal also points out that this is yet another way for Amazon to gather up more data on shoppers and to learn the habits of customers who still buy at least some of their goods in these stores. The Journal says Amazon will probably pitch this system to smaller retailers since big-box retailers such as Best Buy and Wal-Mart “have extensive, complicated checkout systems that may be difficult or costly to give up.”
Will high streets exist in 10 years time?
