– Bluetooth 4.1
– Internal GPS antenna + GLONASS, Digital Compass

This is why the Oneplus 2 is not the Flagship Killer.

The Bad

– No quick charging support of any kind
– Only 1080p screen which is not as high as displays from LG, Samsung and others, 401 ppi
– Camera only f/2.0 – not up with the best from LG with f/1.8
– OxygenOS returns, likely based on Android 5.1 Lollipop
– No NFC
– No Qi charging
– No Micro SD
– No removable battery

All the phone really offers is a low cost phone, well built with a few compromises that probably won’t matter to most people. Personally, the lack of quick charger is a huge oversight. Otherwise it seems a reasonable deal.

Marshall London Smartphone – Unboxing Video

marshall-london-phone-4_1900

Marshall London Smartphone has filled the web with news of its new phone, highlighting its audio pedigree. Looking at the specs in the cold light of day and it appears that the phone tech is Moto G territory. But lurking beneath that exterior is meant to be some serious audio tech.

Anyway, Marshall have created an unboxing video which gives you a better insight into the London phone, which is on a special preorder price of £399, which includes a pair of their £180 headphones.

Microsoft working on a launcher for Android – Arrow Launcher – Details plus Download

In another move on building apps and services for Android and iOS instead of pushing their own Windows Phone first, Microsoft is working on a launcher for android, called Arrow launcher.

Arrow Launcher includes three pages. A People, Apps and Notes & Reminders page.

You can download the APK from here http://microsoft-news.com/this-is-microsofts-arrow-launcher-for-android-download-apk/ and request to join the Google+ Beta group here https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/109393011462139141948 . Seems weird to think Microsoft has a Google+ group page for android software!

Will the Honor 7 come to Europe? Plus Specs

H7

It doesn’t feel that long ago that the Honor 6+ got released in the UK. But time flies quickly in the tech world and now Honor have released the Honor 7 in China. No news has been provided about whether this beast of a phone would come to Europe until Honor released the following video –

The Honor 7 packs a 5.2-inch Full-HD display, Octo-core 64-bit Kirin 935 SoC, 16 or 64GB of internal storage, a memory card slot, 3GB of RAM, 20mp rear camera featuring a Sony IMX230 image sensor (same part used on the Samsung Galaxy S6) a front-facing 8mp front camera, LTE Cat 6 support,
fingerprint sensor and a 3,100mAh battery. It will be interesting to see what tweaks are made for the LTE bands prior to the UK launch.

Pink and Pink – JPEG vs RAW

Below are random shots taken by the LG G4. First is the JPEG cropped and framed shot from the LG G4. Then there are the edited RAW shots, again cropped and framed, but using my computer.

So first up the JPEGs created by the LG G4.

Now the RAW shots, edited and converted to JPEG, cropped and framed.

So which version do you prefer? If you’re wondering why the raw shots looks a different shade, that is because I tweaked the red balance up.

Samsung Note 5 – launch day in 22 days and counting

Are you ready for the next Samsung Galaxy Note 5. To be launched by Samsung on 13th August 2015.

Will it have a micro sd card slot or will it take the form of integrated memory like the Galaxy S6. The web is divided at present. I personally believe it will follow the path of the S6, but time will tell.

So are you looking forward to this phone?

Which camera took that shot? Actually its a phone – the LG G4

Roof Terrace view over Exeter #ExeterCathedral #Dartmoor #BirdinFlight #LGG4

The above photo was taken by the LG G4. The lighting was difficult, tons of glare, so HDR mode was selected. A bird photo bombed the shot at high speed, yet is captured in the scene. The top of Exeter Cathedral is visible on the right, with Dartmoor in the distance. Not the prettiest shot, but impressive for what got captured!

Really love the shot below. The Army were flying helicopters over Dartmoor.

And zooming in on the LG G4, so much detail is possible.

Whilst you have seen mostly my dogs in photos, I do have a cat. Sadly, one cat died recently. But here is Sassy.

From the other day, just look at the detail on this macro shot.

These photos make the LG G4 such a good phone if you like taking quality photos.
