Close up Photography – shot on the Samsung Galaxy S10

The other day I shared some close up photos from the Huawei P30 Pro and today it’s the turn of the Samsung Galaxy S10.

As you can see the S10 is very capable at snapping close up / macro images.

In fact I would say it’s one of the phones strengths.

The level of detail is impressive. For moving creatures you might need to use Pro mode in the camera and manually adjust the focus range and shutter speed. ISO should be as low as possible. 50 or 100.

Judging the results from the S10 vs the P30 Pro, I would say that the S10 achieved a better result plus the shots were easier to pull off.

Even flowers came out well with the S10.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 has a competent camera that since launch has had several updates that have improved the camera software, and it shows.

So what so you think? Have a look at my previous post on the Huawei P30 Pro close up photography, and let me know your winner.

  1. Can you please tell me how you get the macro on a S10? In the p30 Pro i see the option, in the s10 i don’t.
I remember I’ve read somewhere that supposedly i have to select the wide angle mode in the s10 to have less focal distance, but even like that i can’t really get close or it is not in focus.

    1. Best option is using Pro Mode. Then use manual focus and slide to macro . If you hold slider you activate the focus peaking option allowing you to see what’s in or out of focus in your shot.
