16/9 photos are 9 mega pixel ? For the panoramic it use the 4/3 format to combine 3 photos ?

Yes 16:9 are 9.1mp. But quality is same as 12mp. Not sure what happens in panoramic mode.

The quarry shot is very nice. Would it look better at sunset I wonder.

Maybe yes. Just a gamble if there is enough sun / light inside the quarry.

Not directly associated but again with the quarry shot:- Imagine iPhone 6s Plus and NightCap Pro with Star Trials activated.
Would have been nice to see the results of Star Trails in both the sky and water reflection.
