Samsung and Sony take revenge at Apple – details

After Apple finished its announcements of new products, Samsung and Sony wasted no time and took aim at Apple over twitter.( Allow a few seconds for the tweets to appear properly) Of course, it is all very well Samsung making fun of Apple, but at least Apple are selling their products in the UK. The Samsung Note 5 is not being sold by Samsung in the UK still.

I do think this tweet from Sony was funnier though.

Samsung then had a field day.

At IFA 2015 many Apple competitors happily displayed their brand of phone, yet behind closed doors many then used an iPhone to chat to their colleagues

  1. Gavin on iPhone users. We can’t make generalisations as people may use different phones for business and personal use. My colleague is not wedded to the iPhone but his wife uses one and they habe a common diary so they can coordinate home life.

On Apple Pencil. I’m not about the design aspect that means it needs charging. My Surface Pro battery lasts months and S Pen needs no charge. Besides the Mac Book Air which has a fantastic battery life the other Apple devices don’t seem to be designed with battery life as a priority. And I know the 6s Plus has a massive battery but is because the device is just large.

    1. The iPensil is definitely no S-Pen or other device specific Pen.
It has surface connectors that allow the pencil to be tilted extremely acutely to be used exactly like a pencil should be used. Add to that its response mechanism that creates a flow which mimics a true pencil.
As to the battery life; granted it does not hold a charge for a lengthy period but look at its design with the built in lightning connector where all you need do is plug the iPencil into the iPad Pro for ’15’ seconds and you have a 30 minute charge.

      1. So what is the mass market business use case for such a sophisticated Pencil? I have used Note devices since Note 1 for business and I don’t the sophisticated Apple Pencil. My S Pen is sufficient as is the Surface Pro pen.

      2. If both the S-Pen and Surface Pro Pen are suffice to your requirements then no there is no need of the iPencil.
However, if one wishes to use the fullness of the iPad Pro with iPencil then that is their choice.
Adobe was at the Apple Live Event demonstrating their software on the iPad Pro using the iPencil. Would Adobe go to any lengths if it did not believe in the product.
