One of the coolest parts of the new Mate S is when an orange got placed on the force touch screen.
A weighing scale appeared on the screen and weighed the orange.
Simply awesome. Lots more plus hands on soon.
I’m wearing the new Huawei Watch. And its certainly causing a stir.
It is absolutely gorgeous. Thinner bezels than my LG Watch Urbane. In fact the Urbane looks positively old fashioned next to the Huawei Watch.
It comes with loads of stunning watch faces.
The display is a cracking too. Out in the Berlin sun, the display is visible.
More info. The Watch strap has quick release pins. Heart sensor on rear. Sapphire glass is used. 316L stainless steel is used.
There are lots of press announcements today and plenty to be excited about.
Acer, Huawei, Panasonic and Sony all have big press conferences.
Acer will be revealing a range of devices from tablets, wearables and phones.
Huawei is rumoured to be launching the Mate S. This phone will have force torch and so much more. Look at for news later on the Huawei Watch.
Sony should have 3 new flagship level phones. Wearables and more. Potentially the first 4K screen on a phone.
More updates throughout the day so check back later.
Later today, Huawei will be holding a press conference to reveal the new Huawei Mate S.
But like all good things, leaks occur and the Mate S is no different.
Huawei Mate S looks similar to the Mate 7, but is even more premium in design and thinner. It has a 5.5 inch full HD 2.5D screen, integrated all-metal body, a Hisilicon kirin 935 processor, 3GB RAM and 64GB ROM, and support external microSD card up to 128GB, 13-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel front camera, a rear fingerprint scanner, 2700mAh battery, dual Nano SIM card with Cat.6 class LTE network.
Later today I will have a full hands on with the Mate S and provide my own feedback. If Gizmochina have any of the specs or missed anything out I will correct this in my post later.

The photo leaks are fast and furious at the moment. Sony are holding a press conference later this afternoon, but in the meantime feast yourself on the latest photos of the new Xperia Z5 shots.
From left to right. Z5 Compact with a 4 inch 720p screen, Z5 with a 5.2 inch 1080p screen and the Z5 Premium with a crazy 5.5 inch 4K screen , that’s 4096 x 2160.
All 3 have a new 23mp camera unit and the side power button acts as a finger sensor.

Google has announced its android wear watches will now work with the iphone with some limitations.
Apple being Apple restricts system deep access to calls and messages. As Google can’t bypass these constraints, it will offer solutions if you use its own Gmail and Google Now apps.
Google will copy Pebble and others, by mirroring the different types of notifications that iOS offers up from the apps.
The only existing Android Wear watch that will work is the LG Watch Urbane.
Upcoming watches from Asus, Huawei and Motorola will work. Android Wear support requires an iPhone 5 or later.
I intend to test my Urbane with the iphone shortly.

The Moto 360 was a lovely looking watch if you didn’t mind the flat tire display.
Now Motorola is bringing the Moto 360 in a more durable and sweat-resistant finish.
The Moto 360 Sport will come in at least three colours, orange, black and white initially.
I like the look of these. Do you?

Samsung has officially announced the Gear S2 its Tizen-powered smartwatch which will come in three variants: the regular Gear S2, and the Gear S2 Classic offering a black finish with a matching genuine leather band. The 3rd option is with 3g and voice calls. This version has a e-sim. The Gear S2 offers a rotating bezel, as well as a home and back button for easily dealing with notifications.
Samsung is apparently working closely with partners to offer a range of watch faces and watch bands so that users can have a variety of ways to express their personal style and mood. Users can easily change the band with one click, and change the watch face for a more personalized and sophisticated Gear experience depending on the time, place or occasion.
The Gear S2 is a round, 1.2-inch circular display with a resolution of 360×360, 11.4 mm thin, with a 1GHz dual-core processor and a 250 mAh battery (the 3g version has a 300mAh battery), which will support 2-3 days of battery life. NFC is included for mobile payments. Ram is 512mb. 4gb storage. Wireless charging included. Other specs include 802.11n Wifi, Bluetooth 4.1, Sensors – Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Heart Rate, Ambient Light, Barometer. Dimensions 42.3 x 49.8 x 11.4mm and weighing 47g, whilst the 3g version is slightly larger at 44.0 x 51.8 x 13.4mm and weighing 51g. IP68.
Apps included are Contacts, notifications, messages, email, S Voice, S Health, Nike+ Running, music player, gallery, maps & navigation, weather .
Samsung is working with partners to expand the utility of the smartwatch in new ways, including smart car keys, house keys, and remote controls to manage a connected home. Seeing is believing as my Gear S whilst really excellent as what it did , didn’t get many extra apps after I bought it.
You have to be a real Samsung fan to want one of these as its tied to using Samsung hardware. Now Android Wear supports iOS this is really a specialised use case. However, it will do exactly what it says on the tin and really well.
Will the Gear S2 be made to feel inferior by the next round of android wear watches to be announced in a few days? Not long to find out!

There are many options when travelling abroad, but none that seems quite as crazy (hopeful good) as that provided by Yotel. Instead of booking a hotel, you can actually book a cabin that is based right inside the airport terminal. Yotel describe the cabins as –
– Large bunk-style single bed and luxury sheets
– En-suite bathroom with Monsoon rain shower
– YOTEL’s signature all-natural body wash and towels
– Flat screen TV
– Workstation with power services
– 75 sqft
It really is a tiny space. All of 75 square feet. Below is the cabin layout.
In terms of location, the cabins are located between WHSmith and Costa Coffee. Each room comes with free wifi too. The cabin is available in a larger size too and is bookable for a minimum of 4 hours. Actually when you book a cabin, you book the hours you actually want. If you want food, Yotel offers a 24 hours food service.
Sounds too good to be true. Well I’ll update this post tomorrow with my thoughts 🙂
Update – it really is tiny. Very noisy from the air conditioning that you can’t adjust. Or turn off. Claustrophobic too. And has a purple light option as well. Not recommended.
More info Yotel.
