Rumour – next iPhone to be made of recyclable material – concrete

Previous generations of iPhone have been made of polycarbonate, aluminium and glass. Not to be outdone, there is a rumour that the next generation of iPhone will in fact be made of concrete.

From a green perspective, once the phones shelf life has expired, the iPhone can simply be used in your next building project. If you dropped the phone, instead of a crack, you would only be left with some concrete dust.

Now just in case your thought this can’t be true, it is in fact a load of nonsense.

There are so many iPhone rumours floating around one more isn’t going to hurt.

Is there really a budget iPhone or has Apple got another plan up their sleeve?

Apple’s normal strategy is to sell the last 2 versions of the iPhone for less money than previous, reduce the memory and make them the budget offering. So with the iPhone 5 being sold, the iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 become the budget models respectively.

So leaked rumours of the new budget iPhone which comes in a variety of colours seems out of context. Unless, Apple is ditching the 4/4S completely and offering a cheaper option which is made from plastic but will come in several colours.

Of course, we should all be expecting the iPhone 5S, a phone that looks identical as the 5 but with upgraded internals that is better camera, processor etc.

But what if Apple surprised everyone and launched a plastic multicoloured lower cost budget iPhone and then jumped from the 5S straight to a new designed iPhone 6. With market pressures from other competitors it does need to maintain its competitive edge.

Is this the start of a new trend – jail broken iPhones cannot fire in Deus Ex The Fall

Gamers with jailbroken iOS devices who have purchased or otherwise acquired the new game Deus Ex: The Fall are running into a problem when they attempt to play: they can’t fire any guns, a key part of the game.

With piracy so rampant clearly this is one way to battle the problem. But will it alienate honest people who bought the title. Or is it a smart move? Or is it just a publicity stunt to gain more media attention for their game!

iPhone no longer being sold in Russia by largest mobile operator – Windows Phone rules

OAO Mobile TeleSystems, Russia’s largest mobile operator has supposedly dropped Apple’s iPhone in protest over the high costs involved in subsidizing the phone.

But in case you are wondering, it is able to do this as sales of Windows Phone 8 have equalled that of the iPhone.

Clearly, another sign of the iPhone’s high costs being hard to swallow in a tough economic climate. And great news for Windows Phones.

Twitter receives cross platform app updates and via the web too

Twitter announced on its blog that it had made changes to its apps across android, iOS and the mac and web to provide a better unified look and direct message syncing.

So now if you read a direct message on your iPhone it will show read on your android tablet or vice versa. Search has been improved too, and the iOS app has finally caught up with the android app and offers tweet composer for better new tweet operation.

However, the tablet design on android is still the phone version and looks terrible. Your tweets aren’t sync across timelines.

I did notice that the android app has had a few cosmetic tweaks and changing the notification sound now works.

So what else would you like the official twitter app to offer?
