Samsung Galaxy S5 takes on the Ice Bucket Challenge – LOL

I really thought this was a wind up, but the S5 takes on the Ice Bucket Challenge and nominates several other smartphones. I just wonder why the S5 didn’t nominate the Sony Xperia Z2 😉

And whilst Samsung has semi hijacked the ice challenge, Samsung UK has made a donation to the Charity for ALS based in the UK. This has now helped gather some momentum for the UK Charity.

Amazon Paperwhite Touch ereader hardware updated

Head over to your Amazon UK or US and you’ll struggle to notice anything different with the Paperwhite ereader.

And that’s because Amazon has quietly doubled the internal storage of the device from 2GB on the 2013 model to 4GB on this year’s edition.

Based on current memory prices, I doubt this increase has added any cost whatsoever to manufacturing the ereader, but does allow you to store even more books.

htc1WP

On the left is the HTC One M8 running android, and on the right is the same hardware but running Windows Phone. It is exactly the same 5-inch 1080p aluminium unibody design, with just the Windows Phone logo on the back. It comes with on-screen buttons, built-in infrared, the same Snapdragon 801 processor and Duo Camera and 4mp ultrapixel. In fact it is identical except for the operating system. Only one catch, it is only available in the USA and with Verizon and AT&T at the moment.

Updated. Thanks to Richard Yates for the additional information.

Nintendo launching its first iOS game for the iPad soon

Finally, Pokemon a company owned by Nintendo is bringing a game to iOS and the iPad. It will be a video game based on the Pokémon Trading Cards.

This is quite significant as this is the first time anything from Nintendo will be appearing on iOS and also significant because Nintendo had previously gone on record that they would never release games on iOS.

Let’s hope this is the start of new exciting beginnings.
