Ancient Mystic Trees of Dartmoor National Park – Shot on an iPhone X

Wandering around Dartmoor National Park reveals many glorious sites and depending on the time of day, can completely alter the colours of the landscape.

The trees often have a mystic quality about them. Below are a few photos from the iPhone X. Enjoy.

I really like the natural colours of the trees and growth at ground level.

Switching to HDR black and white created a whole new look.

Sometimes it is just nice to take a pano of the scene.

Even the bridges are pretty old now.

And if you visit Dartmoor National Park, keep a look out for the local security guards 🙂

  1. Love the pics Gavin. It is a beautiful place. The Iphone X camera takes impressive shots. Did you do a review of the iphone X? My wife wants to give me her 256gb iphone X to upgrade to the newer one coming out later this year but I have my reservations about leaving android and going into the apple ecosystem. What do you think? What would you do?

    1. Thanks Shane. I did a 3 month review of the X. Scroll back a few posts or so. If you have any other Apple gear it makes sense. Coming from android may be weird at first plus there is the cost of getting new apps again etc.

      1. Thanks for your speedy reply Gavin.
Now considering all you said about the iphone X and the ecosystem costing to get integrated it might be problematic. However, now that you have seen the offering at MWC, what would you recommend to me now? I need a great phone that ticks all the boxes for you yet won’t break the bank. I was thinking just upgrading to the S8 plus but the LG V30 plus is very compelling considering what is being offered. Or is it for true future proofing, I might just have to succumb to what apple is offering and just settle with what my wife will give me which is the iphone X 256gb. I actually prefer android though. I really need:

        1. Good to great battery life
        2. Internal storage preferably 128gb. I really don’t trust 64gb
        3. Timely updates
        4. Decent to good customer service support
        5. Expandable storage.
        6. Good to great screen
        7. Waterproofing.

What phone would give me this Gavin?

      2. Samsung do not provide timely updates, neither do LG. Only Apple and Google, Nokia too. The best phone is being announced on 27th March. That is the Huawei P20 Pro. Not sure of availability yet. So either Apple iPhone X or LG V30+ are potential options for you. Also the S8+ is a bugger to use as the finger print sensor is in the wrong place. If you didn’t want the latest, Huawei Mate 10 Pro is another option, probably the best battery life.
