United States Antarctic Program – The Wonders of Technology

At the end of the world sits Antarctica. It truly is a magnificent place. If you get a chance try and watch “Antarctica: A Year on Ice” directed by Anthony Powell. This is a fantastic film with some amazing filming and insights into what it is like to live and work on Antarctica.

Can you imagine no sun for months on end ? What about surviving a winter lasting 6 months with no way out? Memory loss happens if you stay for winter too….

Well if you’re interested, The United States Antarctic Program uses superb webcam technology to provide 3 live views on the area 24 hours a day. To see for yourself click HERE.

  1. Nearest I got to Antarctica was Falklands & South Georgia 1982….. but we didn’t have much time for viewing back then.
Did the other side of the Globe earlier back in 1973 for a few months and experienced daylight hours beyond belief. 🌞
