So there you have it, Samsung have 2 new phablets. No idea when the release date for these will be in the UK at the moment either. The Edge has a slightly smaller display and battery. Otherwise the specs are the same.
The big question, is the new Note 4 enough of an upgrade over the Note 3 and is the Note 4 strong enough to take on the rumoured Apple iPhone phablet?
In terms of an upgrade from the Note 3, it is worthy. It has the faster chipset, GPU, better camera with OIS and improved screen to 2K. But if I had the Note 3, I would think twice about upgrading now to the Note 4. The Edge designed Note is innovated. Just need to make sure apps don’t get confused on the screen and it is a shame the battery is lower for such a big device.
Until Apple and others reveal their plans, we won’t know if the Note 4 is a success. What’s your views?

The Edge is a high end device. Aimed at the $1000 iPhone 6. Build quality and best 2K screen means the Note 4 will be worth an upgrade and will do well. This year I’ll wait till the prices come down a bit before buying. Also looks like base model is 32gb.

I’m not sold on the Edge yet. I reckon some apps and games will do weird things with the Edge. Plus battery is smaller. The normal Note 4 is a safer option but again qi wireless is extra and not standard. Might as well keep the G3!

Agree….. I didn’t have plans to get a Note 4 in the first place but hey, never say never and all that.
However, I’m not convinced this is a worthy move from the likes of the G3, especially if you have the 3GB/32GB version (which I’ve been holding off getting but am now another step closer).
I know I’ll get an iPhone 6 so I’m not bringing that one in to the table to decide.
Although I doubt I’ll look at a Note 4 I’m not going to be stupid, so I’ll say my two top choices are the Note 4 and Z3. With the exception of a few niceties on each device which i so wish were on the G3 I doubt I’ll be changing soon……. but again, never say never 😉

After the nonsense of the Z1 and Z2 camera module, the Z3 is off the table. Note 4 and iPhone are a maybe but G3 still a powerful device with some clever tweaks

Agreed the G3 is a very good device which is why I’ll be happy to wait a while before getting a Note 4 or Edge. Don’t think battery will be an issue on the Edge as it is the same as the Note 3.
