The rules kick in from 1st April 2014. Let’s hope we see a fairer and less freemium apps that either rips us off or ruin game play.

  1. I have not read the document yet but no doubt with Freemium accounting for over ¾ of Apps sold it will be difficult for anyone to impose restrictions without the likes of Apple, Google and all coming back in some form of credibility defence.
We all know Apple have been involved in reimbursing many parents/guardians and as such they themselves have gone to great length to publish how to control in app purching.
From their actions alone they have made it perfectly clear freemium titles are more profitable.

But I agree….. Apple, Google and other store controllers have a moral duty in ensuring their public are not only protected but given a fair payment system.
