Sammobile reported from Korean web site DDaily that Samsung has commenced production of their new 5.25-inch AMOLED displays to be used in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5. The screen is expected to be a 2560×1440 2K display. Similar to the technology used for the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Note 3, the new display uses a diamond pixel arrangement. Each of the red and blue pixels is shaped like a diamond, with normal green pixels interleaved throughout, which is supposed to increase sharpness and pixel density. For the size and resolution, the Galaxy S5 screen will be running at 560 ppi.
The Galaxy S5 is expected to also come equipped with 3GB of RAM, a 16MP camera and will have Android KitKat 4.4 installed. Like other Samsung devices, the processor will likely vary by market with Snapdragon 800, Snapdragon 805 and 64-bit Exynos processors all believed to be candidates.
If the above is correct, then the S5 will likely only be a modest spec increase from the S4, but should bring a much better user experience.
Like many, having owned all the Galaxy ‘S’ series of phonesI told myself I would miss the S5, part due to Touchwiz but mostly because there was never ‘the big jump’ in design with plastic being the continued story……
However if stories are to be correct at least the design could well change significantly enough for me to hop back on board the Sammy Train as it rolls along the evolution line hopefully changing track and stopping at the non plastic shell station.
With that larger and more adventurous screen and better hardware configurations I am sure the S5 will be full of both beauty and strength.

Having used Sony and Sammy I can how Touchwiz slows down the device so I am more likely to try the next z1

What made you pick the Z Ultra over the Note 3?

It’s tricky to know what Samsung will do. I think plastic is still the fav, but if metal then the options for removable batteries and memory cards may go.
Got to play with a white Note 3 and Sony Z Ultra. Craving both now. The white Note 3 looked nicer than the black due to the silver rim. Surprised me.

I have both Note 3 and Z Ultra. The Note 3 has the best note taking hardware and wireless charging. The Z Ultra is my preferred business device for calls email and PIM. Also now using Z ultra for magazine reading.

What do you like about the Z Ultra? If you had to choose one?

Gavin I use the Z Ultra a lot more than the Note 3 but the Note 3 is more portable. For business where I spend most of the day at a desk I prefer the Z Ultra and for holidays I think I would use the Z Ultra but comuter travelling and on weekends I prefer the Note 3. I make a lot of notes on the move so the Note is great for that. Don’t think the Z Ultra is as good for Note taking. Have ordered the special Sony stylus and this may change my mind but unlikely.
