One company is soon going to create a major upset in the smartphone market – and they don’t sell phones yet?

Amazon sells tablets, marketed under its Kindle brand. They sell large volumes of these and make compelling hardware too. Amazon have one of the best media online stores for books, music, video and now a decent app market place store.

So in 2014 it should come as no surprise when Amazon launches it’s own range of smartphones that will play havoc with other companies business models. This will hurt people like Apple who actually like to make money from their hardware sales.

It will be interesting to see how 2014 pans out as their will surely be winners and some losers.

So what are your predictions ?

  1. My predictions are that Amazon will make yet more money that in part again will not go back to the public in taxes.
As far as I an concerned they could make the next best thing at half the price (spoiler alert ~ it won’t be), it still would not give me a smidgen of interest.

    1. Yes but that doesn’t make it right.
We all know any business will try it’s hardest to maximise it’s profits.
However it’s the ethic in how that is achieved which is what counts.
Amazon care of nothing other than profit….. At least the other two look after their employers (as in health program’s etc.), even though they milk the facilities but don’t chip in to help the very same organisations that provide the facilities.

Anyway….. Hijack complete: back to Gavin’s topic πŸ™‚
