Adverts in My Blog update – good news

Just a quick note to let you know that the adverts that appear in my blog are not my doing, they are added by WordPress. To remove them I have to pay $30 a year. One reader has let me know how annoying they are, and to be honest I find them horrible too.

Can you reply in the comments and let me know your views please.

UPDATE – I’ve just paid WordPress $30 to remove the ads. Everything should look a lot better now. If you still see them let me know.

  1. I get so used to seeing them they do not bother me any more, Some use ad blocking services. I think it is reasonable when wordpress is free.

  2. I only seem to really see them when I view the posts on mobile. But they are large! Can’t miss them. That said, they don’t particularly bother me. Same issue with my blog. I haven’t paid for a pro account on WordPress because I don’t blog enough nor have a large enough readership to make it worth paying, the admittedly low, $30 price tag. However in your case, if you plan on continuing to write as much as you have and to attract a larger audience, the fee would probably be worth it.

      1. I may not see them on my MBA because I’m logged into my WordPress account automatically when I view your blog. On my mobile devices, I’m not logged in. But glad you decided to pay the minimal fee to get rid of them. It removes a turnoff for new readers.

      2. I only had seen one today for the first time. As I am always using their iPad app I’ve never seen them. I must admit I was horrified by the weight loss advert. Didn’t appeal to me at all. WordPress will take that amount automatically every year now. Now keeps the blog professional and appealing.

  3. I can’t say I’d noticed them tbh, but equally, I can’t remember which of my devices I’ve visited your blog on either!
