Head over to your Amazon UK or US and you’ll struggle to notice anything different with the Paperwhite ereader.
And that’s because Amazon has quietly doubled the internal storage of the device from 2GB on the 2013 model to 4GB on this year’s edition.
Based on current memory prices, I doubt this increase has added any cost whatsoever to manufacturing the ereader, but does allow you to store even more books.
The Ice Bucket Challenge has taken the USA by storm. Celebrities started and filmed themselves having a bucket of water poured over their heads. If they didn’t accept the challenge in 24 hours they had to donate £100 to ALS. They also had to nominate 3 other people. So you can see the pyramid concept exploded. Elaborate methods of having a bucket of water poured over the head were created, Bill Gates taking the engineering prize. But what has this meant in real terms, or I should say hard cash donations. These donations have come from existing donors and 739,275 new donors to The Association.”
What is so incredible is the donated amount at present is increasing at the rate of $10m per day. Also in 2 days there have been an extra 350,000 people/donors. The scale of this is epic. At the current rate they have received in a space of 2 months, what would have normally taken 20 years to receive via donations.

The BlackBerry Passport is due out next month. It is unique with its square shape and screen, special keyboard and more. BlackBerry have emphasised just how good the screen is for documents.
But now they are promoting it is perfect for viewing X-Rays of your lungs. So now I have found a feature my LG G3 does not include, and this in turn has provided the sole reason for changing the LG G3 for the BlackBerry Passport. I know deep down this is a feature you all have dreamed of, so maybe we can all club together and make a bulk purchase!
In another blow for the Windows Phone App eco system, the popular social mapping app Waze is not going to be receiving anymore updates on the Windows Phone platform.
Just as well Here Maps is included in most Nokia branded Windows Phone handsets!

The above depicts what the iPhone 6 could look like using the screen and frame panels. Based on the latest iOS 8 beta, we could be looking at a homescreen with an extra column and maybe one or two more rows. Based on Field & Yolks calculations, the iPhone 6 could have resolution of 960 x 1704. The current iPhone display resolution is 640 x 1136. If that is the case, that only translates into 359 PPI. As a bit of perspective the 5.5 inch screen on the LG G3 has 540 PPI. Somehow, I doubt the authenticity of the models and calculations. If this is the case, then the next iPhone will be way behind some of its competitors screens.

On the left is the HTC One M8 running android, and on the right is the same hardware but running Windows Phone. It is exactly the same 5-inch 1080p aluminium unibody design, with just the Windows Phone logo on the back. It comes with on-screen buttons, built-in infrared, the same Snapdragon 801 processor and Duo Camera and 4mp ultrapixel. In fact it is identical except for the operating system. Only one catch, it is only available in the USA and with Verizon and AT&T at the moment.

The latest Lumia smartphone runs Windows 8.1 and delivers an uncompromised performance for the fraction of the price of its higher-end counterparts and provides seamless integration with Microsoft services such as Skype and Microsoft Office right out of the box.
The Lumia 530 has a changeable shell which comes in a variety of colours including bright orange, bright green and dark grey, and will be available from the 4th September at EE, Vodafone, O2, Three, Phones 4u and Carphone Warehouse from £60.
