Samsung Galaxy Gold S6 Edge – First Impressions – Updated

Currently, I am setting up my gold S6 Edge.

All I can say is what an amazing finish, design and look. I previously was using the S6 (standard version) in the black finish. But the curved screen in my opinion looks nicer.

So if you have any questions let me know and I will update this post with the answers later.

Updated –

I have been really busy so last night was really my first chance to start setting up my S6 Edge in Gold. I had thoroughly enjoyed my time using the standard S6 and using my Note 4 since it got lollipop.

I setup my S6 in stages. Firstly restoring around 60 apps and entering as many user names and passwords. The Edge did get warm during this process but not crazy hot! Overnight, I selected the large sized games to restore, around 40. This morning, Inner World had failed to download properly, so the 806mb download is trying again.

I then have to decide on 10gb of music to move across and then choose a selection of my favourite photos to copy across too. The last part of the process is tidying everything up in folders, tweaking my home screen and checking every app has been setup properly along with all the games. This whole process will be broken up over the weekend to complete.

Last night, I used the Edge as a night clock using the Edge Clock. Worked as described but I did notice the main display side seemed to have a slight white glow to it. Not an issue but the Note 4 Edge phone never did this.

I also have a Samsung S6 Edge Gold Protective case that covers the bottom and corners of the phone. This is a lovely case and ideal as the camera hump is no longer protruding. Qi Wireless charging is not affected with this case fitted. The gold finish in my mind is totally gorgeous and along with the Edge curved edges makes this phone the most stylish device I have ever owned. More soon.

PS. I will update this post with photos of the phone and case when it is daylight. Currently middle of the night!

  1. Gavin watch that temperature – let it update first cool down before you do a restore. I have heard the S6E can get very hot when trying to do an update and sync for restore etc. At XDA Developers someone claimed the screen poped or cracked because of the high temp!
