Flickr for iOS just got one whopping update for iPhone and finally for iPad too

Flickr just got a substantial update that now includes native support for the iPad. Screen shot above from my iPad Air. What’s interesting is the app doesn’t show when searching on the iPad. If you select the filter just for iPhone it does appear. But it most certainly has been designed now for the iPad.

New features in version include –

– integration with iOS 8 share extension
– iPad support, iPhone 6 and 6 Plus support
– ability to access and edit photo details
– unified search across your photos, albums, groups and Flickr photos
– performance and bug fixes

And Flickr provides 1,000gb of free storage for your photos too.

  1. Interesting……. I have just opened my Flickr App on the iPad Air and it’s still running the horrible iPhone version yet if I go to the App Store and look up Flickr and read the comments it does indeed mention the App should have updated today.
Maybe it will update later today, or maybe is it because I am still running iOS 7.

      1. Just checked the version number and I’m still on 3.1.1 which is the older version. Today’s 3.2 has not come through to me so the only possibility is it must be tied in with iOS8, which I think is an oversight by the developer. Normally at this stage I would contact them but with iOS8.1 just around the corner I’ll wait for that to arrive, update my iPad and again see if Flickr updates itself. 🙂
