Seems to be pretty close to me. If you zoom in the Nexus is often better but that’s what you would expect from greater megapixels. I have seen similar conclusions on other comparison threads.
I have just been away on a mini-break and had the first chance to test the One in real use. I have to say it exceeded my expectations. The ZOE mode, which I thought might be just a gimmick, was brilliant. Low light photos were exceptional. By a strange coincidence I was in Amsterdam for one day at the same time my son was doing a gig there. At his performance I took some stills and some videos on my One and his iPhone 5S. We were both shocked at how good the One’s videos came out. They were noticeably better than the iPhone’s. Sound from the One’s stereo mics was brilliant as well. Landscape shots of the city were a different story. The 5S was way better.
I’m probably the exact kind of person the HTC camera is good for. I tend to just point and shoot and only go into the settings if I need to. I also rarely print out any photos and so the pics are fine on the phone display. For me it does exactly what it says on the tin. 🙂
