On Monday, I updated my HTC One to the official 4.2.2 update over the air. I have noticed that the battery consumption is considerably faster than previously before.
It is likely that after a new update, the battery needs a few weeks to settle down, but my drainage is twice as fast as previously.
I would be curious to know if you are affected and how many apps/games you have installed? I have a total of 80 apps.
Also updated on Monday via OTA and haven’t gotten around to unlocking and installing anything custom yet so still stock. I would say that my battery drainage is perhaps slightly faster than it was on 4.1.2, but I still get to the end of the day with over 40% remaining after a reasonable amount of screen time during the day.
I don’t have a shed-load of apps installed, but then the number of apps installed shouldn’t matter as much as what they all do in the background. I do have the usual FB, Twitter and GApps etc. running their background syncing and I listen to perhaps and hour or two of music during the day.
I doubt very much a battery needs a few weeks to settle down after a ROM upgrade – at worst I think one or two days with a couple of reboot cycles
