YouTube is clamping down on video creators who work have deals directly with other companies. Now it wants everyone to use on Google’s sales team for deals. This makes sense and maybe we will all know if a review is a genuine review or just a sales pitch.
To implement these new rules, YouTube amended its ad policies to block “graphical title cards” from sponsors aiming to promote their brands and products on YouTube channels. Video overlays of sponsor logos and product branding are no longer allowed unless the sponsor pays Google to advertise on that channel.
