Apple aiming for 19 hours of Apple Watch battery life under normal conditions, 2.5 hours ‘heavy’ use

“Apple is aiming for 19 hours of Apple Watch battery life under normal conditions, 2.5 hours ‘heavy’ use

Apple is targeting 19 hours of battery life under mixed usage conditions for its upcoming Apple Watch wearable, consistent with Apple CEO Tim Cook’s estimate that users will want to charge the device daily. ”

Whether the above stats are true or not it does ask the question is any watch going to survive with the general population that needs charging daily and if filled with apps possibly even more than once a day. Perhaps it’s time to decide that less is more so that we can get longer battery life ?

What do you think?

  1. So a wearable (read: strapped to your body and not easily charged) device tht designed to monitor a person’s activity day and night…..wont even last the day, let alone the night? And maybe wont even last through say a Sunday afternoon outing with your mountain bike?

Oh dear, oh dear. The Apple mind control – sorry “marketing” – department is going to have to work miracles on this one. This might be their biggest challenge ever.

  2. Samsung Gear fit okay for a couple of days and I usually get 3 days of use. Limited functions but adequate trade off.

  3. Pebble Steel 1 week battery.. Does 90% of what the current snartwatches do. As well as being truly water proof …..as well as not being a glowing spectacle on your wrist in low lighting situations
