Apple has released iOS 7.1.2. The update improves iBeacon connectivity and stability, other bug fixes and security updates including a data transfer bug fix, and a fixed issue with data protection class of Mail attachments.
iOS 7.1.2 is available over-the-air or through iTunes. Before you update, it is a good idea to charge you device to at least 50% and have it plugged in before carrying out update.
I must admit I haven’t updated my iPad yet. I finally have sorted the battery life and don’t want to do anything to jeopardise this. So far I have had 10 hours usage and the battery is at 46%.
You are lucky….. I wish the Brightness would stop rising to Max every time I turn it down. Maybe then I would get more life out of this expensive 128GB Laptop replacer.

Mike. I’ve recently had battery woes with my iPad. I did a restore as new. But I’ve now done a fresh install as a brand new iPad. Only added a few apps. My battery life is massively better. Over double now and I’ve still got 36% left. Had over 10 hours usage and over a day on standby.

Yes Gavin, I think I’ll have to take the same route myself. Clearly I have one App which is hitting the core system altering the brightness level.
Since my post above I altered the level back down to halfway, in that hour or so since it has slowly crept back up to full brightness without realising.
Although I love how Apple does a superb job of rebuilding your device after a factory reset I think in this situation I’ll go back to basics.
It’ll be a BIG job mind, this is where Android with it’s open system would come in hand to grab a file here there and everywhere……….

My bad…… Not an hour or so, I did not realise but it was only a mere 20 mins…. Doesn’t time fly when you are having fun.
