After offering free calls in North America earlier this year, Facebook is now opening up its free VOIP calling functions to the UK. It works by using Facebook Messenger application for iOS, selecting the “i” button in conversation view and pressing “Free Call.” Messenger supports backgrounding and push notifications, and you can leave voice messages when your friends are offline.

With the UK on board calls can be made with US and Canadian users too.
