If you own either a Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge for 150 euros or £120 you can now buy a protective case from Samsung that allows 2 different lenses to be screwed on in an instant.
These are no ordinary lenses. They are made of stainless steel. One is a 110º wide angle lens and the other a telephoto lens. Samsung claim the quality of these optics are top notch and that the end results will be distortion free.
Of course if you want a wide angle lens, just buy a LG G5 which has a 135º lens as standard. Still you do get a telephoto lens with this as well, so this could be just what the doctor ordered!

Well, I was looking at this as a possibility to fix the lower megapixel count on the S7E when trying to crop! I could just use this lens and it would instantly be a lot closer! Just yesterday I took a shot of a building that was in the distance and I instantly missed my LG G4 for its 16 mpx shooter just for the cropability. I think this is the general issue – I came from a 16 mpx or higher shooter for the last 2 years. I feel like S7E Shots (from a distance) are pixelated when its really just 12mpx and not 20 or 16 in older Lumias and LGs, quality of the photos aside of course.

I agree. It’s amazing what extra detail higher resolution lenses make.

I too have been missing the “crop ability” since using the S7edge for image capture instead of the Nokia 808. 😦

The lens cover is not the most aesthetically pleasing. I am wondering how it would impact the beautiful s7edge design! That being said, when it comes out, it would be good to know if Samsungs claims of “top notch” and free of distortion.
